Four Booking Platforms. Four Different Booking Models.
Instant-book activities in Portugal. Negotiated room rates in the UK. Request-to-book rentals in India. Yachts, limousines and golf tee times across multiple destinations. Most booking software assumes one model and breaks on the others — we’ve built all four in production.

Booking Software Assumes One Model. Yours Might Be Different.
Nearly every off-the-shelf booking tool is built on the same assumption: fixed price, instant confirmation, one operator, one thing at a time.
Real travel businesses break that assumption constantly.
- Your price isn’t fixed — guests negotiate, or suppliers bid
- Your bookings aren’t instant — hosts approve requests before anything is confirmed
- You have multiple sellers, each with their own inventory, rates, and payouts
- More than one party earns from a single booking: seller, affiliate, referring hotel, platform
- Your customers book several things that must fit together — an activity plus the transfer that gets them there
- Your inventory isn’t a room. It’s a tee time, a yacht for four days, or a vehicle sized to the party
- Your availability lives in your site, your app, and every OTA channel at once
Each one is a hard engineering problem. Together, they’re a platform — and that’s what we build.
The Four Booking Models
We’ve Engineered All Four
The strongest section on the page. Four cards, each naming the model and the platform that proves it.
Instant Book with Capacity
Customer picks a date and slot, capacity decrements, confirmation is immediate. Sounds simple until you add per-departure limits, buffer times, seasonal schedules, and multiple sellers sharing one marketplace.
Built in:
- Tourysta
- Tourtastique
Negotiated Pricing
No fixed rate. The customer proposes, the supplier counters, and a booking only exists once both sides agree — then payment confirms it. Requires an offer lifecycle, expiry handling, and inventory held in limbo without being lost.
Built in:
- UK hotel booking platform
Request to Book
Customer submits a request, the host or operator approves or declines, and availability is provisional until it resolves. Common in rentals, and much harder than instant book because the availability truth is temporarily ambiguous.
Built in:
- Rental Hive
Resource & Fleet Matching
The inventory isn’t a slot — it’s a vehicle, a yacht, or a tee time. Match on party size, duration, and crew or driver availability, then price accordingly.
Built in:
- Tourysta transfers
- Tourtastique yachts and limousines

Booking Platforms We’ve Shipped

Tourysta
Activities Marketplace Portugal
An activities booking marketplace in the GetYourGuide and Viator class, connected into the wider OTA ecosystem.
- Multi-vendor seller platform. Independent operators onboard, list experiences, and control their own availability, pricing, and bookings from a dedicated portal — each running their own inventory inside one shared marketplace.
- Bókun OTA distribution. Inventory syncs into the OTA ecosystem, so availability stays true across Tourysta and external channels without manual updating.
- Four-way commission engine. A single booking can pay the operator, an affiliate who shared the listing, a hotel that referred the guest, and the platform — each on their own rate, calculated at booking and reconciled at payout, and held correctly through cancellations and partial refunds. Most booking platforms cannot do this at all.
- Hotel partner programme. Hotels recommend activities to guests through a partner portal and earn commission on conversions, turning concierge desks into a distribution channel that costs nothing until it produces a booking.
- Affiliate programme. Trackable links let creators and publishers share individual activities, with attribution held through to payout.
- Transfers with vehicle matching. Customers add airport or point-to-point transfers to their activity booking. They enter passenger count, the system matches a suitably sized vehicle and returns live pricing, return legs are handled in the same flow, and everything checks out as one transaction.
- Customer web and mobile apps on one shared availability source.

Hotel Booking Platform
UK Hotel Booking Platform — Negotiated Rates
- A hotel booking platform, web and mobile, where the price is the outcome of a conversation rather than a published rate.
- Hotels list their properties and rooms. Guests search, find a property, and negotiate the room charge directly – offers going back and forth until both sides agree, at which point online payment confirms the booking.
- The hard parts: an offer and counter-offer lifecycle with expiry, room inventory held provisionally during negotiation without blocking other guests, and a payment step that only becomes live once terms are settled. Standard booking engines have no concept of a price that isn’t decided yet.
- Hotels onboarded
- Bookings confirmed
- Average discount achieved
- Negotiation-to-booking conversion rate

Rental Hive
Rental Property Portal India
- A web portal for rental properties, apartments, and hotels, built on a request-to-book model.
- Customers search and filter available properties and submit a booking request rather than instantly confirming.
- Availability is kept in sync through iCal channel manager integration, so listings stay accurate against the other platforms an owner lists on.
- The hard parts: provisional availability while a request is pending, iCal sync behaviour and its inherent latency, and preventing conflicts when several requests target the same dates.
- Properties listed
- Booking requests processed
- Request-To-Confirmation rate

Tourtastique
Multi-Service Travel Marketplace
- A travel marketplace spanning six distinct booking categories across multiple destinations: city tours, excursions, yacht charters, limousine booking, airport transfers, and golf tee times –
- With supply from activity providers, tour operators, destination tourism companies, theme parks, tourism boards, and golf clubs.
- The hard parts: six categories with genuinely different availability mechanics under one basket and one checkout. Tee times are fixed intervals with group-size limits. Yacht charters are multi-day blocks with crew and itinerary. Limousines are a fleet matched on party size. Tours are capacity-based departures. Each needs its own availability model, and the platform has to present all of them as one coherent product.

What We Build
The Engineering Underneath
Availability & Inventory Engine
One source of truth for what’s genuinely free, across every seller and channel. Atomic locking during checkout so two customers can’t take the same slot, capacity limits, buffer and turnaround time, blackout dates, seasonal schedules, and provisional holds for request and negotiation flows.
This decides whether your platform works. Everything else sits on top of it.
Offer & Negotiation Engine
Proposals, counter-offers, expiry windows, and provisional inventory holds — the machinery behind negotiated pricing and supplier bidding. Built for the case where the price isn’t known at the point of enquiry.
Multi-Vendor Seller Management
Onboarding and verification, self-service listing tools, per-seller calendars and pricing, booking management, performance dashboards, and automated payouts.
Commission & Payout Distribution
Multi-party splits across sellers, affiliates, referral partners, and the platform — configurable rates, calculated at booking, held through cancellations and partial refunds, settled on scheduled payouts.
Channel & OTA Sync
Two-way availability, rate, and inventory sync through Bókun, iCal, direct OTA connections, or a custom sync layer. Event-driven on change rather than overnight batch.
Multi-Category & Bundled Booking
Different inventory types in one basket, validated against each other — passenger counts consistent, timings that don’t collide, return legs handled, one payment for the lot.
Fleet & Resource Logic
Vehicle matching on passenger count and luggage, zone and distance pricing, multi-leg and return journeys, driver or crew assignment, and scheduling that respects the activity it’s attached to.
Guest Communication
Confirmations, reminders, pre-arrival and follow-up messaging across email, SMS, and WhatsApp. Reminder sequences move the no-show rate more than any other single feature.
Where AI Fits
AI Where It Earns Its Place
Booking marketplaces are among the best places to apply AI — you have demand history and perishable inventory, which is exactly what these models handle well.

Process
How a Booking Platform Project Runs
01
Booking Flow Audit
Free, 1 to 2 Weeks We map your booking model, availability logic, commission structure, and channel setup. You get a written findings document: which of the four models you’re actually running, where bookings leak, where sync risk sits, and what a build would need to handle. Yours to keep either way.
02
Rules & Architecture
2 to 3 Weeks Your booking and commission rules documented in one place, often for the first time. Availability model, rate structure, offer lifecycle, split logic, cancellation policy. This document prevents most expensive rework later.
03
Core Build
10 to 16 Weeks Availability engine first, then booking flow, payments, seller portal, and admin. Driven by channel count, category count, and commission complexity — not page count.
04
Channel Integration & Load Testing
Every channel connected and verified under concurrent-booking load. We test the race conditions that cause double-bookings before real customers find them.
05
Supplier Onboarding Support
A marketplace with no supply doesn’t convert. We build the onboarding tooling and help you get the first cohort live.
06
Launch & Peak Support
Phased cutover with extra coverage through your first peak season — which is when reservation platforms actually get tested.

Why Infosparkles
Why Teams Bring Us In
01
We’ve built four booking models, not one.
Instant book, negotiated pricing, request-to-book, and fleet matching — all in production. Most agencies have only ever shipped the first.
02
Multi-party commission logic is proven ground.
Four parties earning from a single booking on Tourysta, held correctly through cancellations and refunds.
03
We’ve done multi-category under one checkout.
Tourtastique runs tours, yachts, limousines, transfers, and tee times in one platform. If your inventory doesn’t fit a standard box, we’ve already dealt with that.
04
We build the availability engine properly.
Concurrency, locking, provisional holds, and timezone handling are where booking platforms quietly fail. Foundation, not detail.
05
We know the channel ecosystem.
Bókun and iCal both carry a lot of undocumented behaviour. We’re not learning it on your project.
You own the platform, the margin, and the customer. No per-booking fees, no commission to us, your guest data stays yours.
Frequently Asked Questions
Yes — Tourysta is a live multi-vendor activities marketplace in Portugal with seller onboarding, Bókun OTA distribution, affiliate and hotel-partner commission programmes, and a bundled transfer engine.
Yes. We built exactly that for a UK hotel platform: guests and hotels exchange offers until they agree, then online payment confirms the booking. It needs an offer lifecycle with expiry and provisional inventory holds, which standard booking engines don’t have.
Yes — Rental Hive runs on request-to-book, with availability held provisionally while the request is pending and iCal sync keeping listings accurate against other platforms.
Yes. Tourtastique runs city tours, excursions, yacht charters, limousine bookings, airport transfers, and golf tee times in one marketplace. Each category needs its own availability model, and they share one basket and checkout.
Each party has a configurable rate. The split is calculated at booking, tracked through the lifecycle including cancellations and partial refunds, and settled on scheduled payouts. Built on Tourysta for sellers, affiliates, hotel partners, and the platform.
Both, in production. We also connect directly to major OTAs where a direct integration serves you better than a channel manager.
Yes. On Tourysta a customer enters passenger count, the system matches a suitably sized vehicle with live pricing, handles the return leg, and checks out with the activity as one transaction. Bundling is the easiest lever on average order value.
Typically 4–6 months to production for a multi-vendor build. Complexity comes from booking models, categories, channels, and commission rules — not screen count.
Yes. Phased cutover with both systems live, existing and future bookings migrated, historical records intact. No blackout window.
Atomic locking on the availability record during checkout, plus event-driven channel sync rather than scheduled batch. We load-test concurrent booking attempts before launch specifically to prove it holds.
Yes — required across our Portugal, UK, and India builds. Timezones are handled at the data layer rather than the display layer, which is where most platforms break across DST boundaries.
You do, on delivery. Full source, documentation, and deployment access.
